BEAT THE HEAT WITH ESSENTIAL OILS AND HYDRATION!
As the summer sun blazes, it’s crucial to stay cool and hydrated. Extreme heat can be tough on our bodies, but with a little help from essential oils and proper hydration, you can keep feeling fresh and revitalized all season long! Here’s how:
Drinking plenty of water is the key to combating extreme heat. And add a pinch of sea salt to help replenish lost electrolytes! Aim for at least 8 glasses a day, and don’t forget to add a splash of flavor with slices of cucumber, lemon, or mint. Hydration helps regulate your body temperature, keeps your skin glowing, and boosts your energy levels.
COOLING ESSENTIAL OILS
Peppermint Oil…This invigorating oil has a cooling effect that can help lower your body temperature. Try adding a few drops to a spray bottle with water for a refreshing mist or dilute with a carrier oil and apply to your temples and neck.
Lavender Oil… Not only does lavender oil have a calming aroma, but it also helps soothe and cool your skin. Add it to your bath or mix with aloe vera gel for a cooling after-sun lotion.
Eucalyptus Oil… Known for its refreshing and revitalizing properties, eucalyptus oil can help you feel cooler and more energized. Diffuse it indoors to create a fresh and cooling atmosphere.
HYDRATING RECIPES
Cooling Mist… Mix water, a few drops of peppermint oil, and lavender oil in a glass spray bottle. Keep it in the fridge for an extra cool spritz whenever you need it.
Hydration Drink… Combine water, a squeeze of lemon, a few cucumber slices, and a drop of peppermint or lemon oil for a refreshing and hydrating beverage.
Aloe Vera Gel… Mix aloe vera gel with a few drops of lavender and eucalyptus oils. Apply to your skin after a day in the sun to hydrate and cool your skin.
