I am mother of 1 daughter and 1 son with autism.  Formerly, I was a teacher of 15 years, but now I’m a domestic goddess that substitutes on the side when I miss the classroom.  Being able to give all of my attention to my family is the greatest gift!  My 15 yr old son is limited-verbal; he has a wide vocabulary, but only uses 1-2 of them in a sentence at a time. Although he is a sweetheart, the frustration of not being able to speak has caused some aggression…understandably.  I am currently trying out many of your suggestions and have him in the MeRT therapy.  Finger crossed!
