Has anyone seen anything about pneumonia going around – specifically the one from Mycoplasma bacteria and treating it with an antibiotic? Just wondering if/what I can do for my family who has had this cough and chest stuff for a while and when to seek further help. I don’t really turn to antibiotics but I also have an 83 year old father who we live with and a son in college who is around so much. I can explain more but wondered if anyone else out there is dealing with this. Thank you!

My two children were diagnosed with that type of pneumonia a couple weeks ago and I decided to do the antibiotic route because my daughter got to a 105.5 fever. After a day on the antibiotic she was almost 100% better …In this case, I was grateful for the antibiotic.

I would treat it the same way I treat other lung/respiratory issues in my family. Here is some good info on antibiotics. Please dont hesitate to use the urgent care button on the main screen if you need personalized support!
