My 6 year old daughter is complaining lately that her hands are hot. She just starts panicking and screaming, saying that her hands are hot. She definitely struggles with anxiety, so not sure if it’s related.

Hi Heather! Im sorry to hear she is dealing with anxiety. Has she had any recent vaccines, medicines, or trauma? Are her hands physically hot when you hold them? Is the rest of her? Does anything alleviate the feeling for her? (running water, ice, cold air, etc)

Hi Jodie! No, she hasn’t had any new vaccines/medicines/trauma. She has had a stainless steel crown put in on one of her molars. I can’t say for 100% certainty that she started complaining about this after the crown was put in. (The dentist tried and tried to put a white crown in but it wouldn’t stick so he had to go with the stainless steel. The idea of it has bothered me, but there didn’t seem to be any other options.)

As far as the actual temperature, she feels totally normal to the touch (hands as well as body). She gets so worked up about it that she won’t even let me try a remedy. Only distracting her seems to work.

I would find a holistic dentist to take a look, as crowns can do more damage than is worth. Also go through the dental course -especially this lesson
