• Bed wetting

My 7 and 5 year olds still wet the bed every night. I’m wondering if it really is fully a developmental thing or if there is something I can do? Is there a deficiency involved? My kids are such hard sleepers. Of 7 kids, myself and sibling number 2 struggled with it til about 3rd grade, the rest of the siblings except the last one stayed dry all night when they potty trained as toddlers. I’ve always wondered why. Would love some insight if there’s some to be had.

This can be due to lots of factors -maturity is one. Emotions can play a role in this as well, and constipation is often a huge underlying cause of incontinence. It never hurts to start with gut health and work your way out from there -make sure they are eating a whole food diet, drinking plenty of hydrating options like bone broth or electrolytes, taking a quality probiotic like MightyPro, and having regular, healthy bowel movements. Ningxia is great to add in too.

Came back through here to reread, and had maybe an epiphany with what you said and what else I’ve been reading in courses…if my kids are only drinking water without anything added (electrolytes), could they be drinking more fluids than they need in an attempt to hydrate and wet the bed because of it? Or am I stretching that thought too far? 😅

Easy way to test the theory -grab some yummy electrolyte options and add them in once a day!
