Newish homeowner here. We’re beginning to find spiders in the home and may have heard a rat/mouse last night but no evidence yet. Ideas on the best non toxic way to handle this?

Cats are fantastic mousers naturally -that will always be the least toxic way to deal with them. They will also continually protect your home and depending on the cat, even the spiders may be fun prey for them.

As for the spiders, I would start by doing some very basic checks -door and window seals and the like, making sure there is no clutter or dusty corners they can hang out in. Then make sure you are diffusing and using oils spiders are known to dislike like Peppermint. Other oils that spiders tend to avoid include citrus, tea-tree, lavender, and rose.
