Got a cut on index finger from a skinning knife and went to urgent care for a repair.

Had stitches placed but finger got very infected, attempted to wait out infection to point

of having to be seen by an orthopedic specialist that immediately transferred me to local ER

and had to have finger drained of infectious fluid and placed on IV vancomycin antibiotics every 12 hours

for 9 weeks. Beginning to loose mobility in finger and not able to bend it. Physicians want to continue IV

medications until finished with prescribed dose. Infection had almost reached septic status when I was in ER. If anything what oils and/or supplements from YL would help the healing process and possibly help me keep my finger because at this time it looks like they might still amputate it. :/

    Hi Jennifer,

I am new to the group, so I’m still learning all about YL and do not have suggestions for you on that, but I was reading yesterday about wound care on the DioxiCare website. They use chlorine dioxide for topical products. I was purchasing their toothpaste, but was fascinated by the wound care spray because I recently had an infection under my fingernail that luckily has healed.

Some people also use chlorine dioxide internally. This is a whole other rabbit hole you may want to explore on your own, but topical use is very common.

You may want to check it out. Here is a (non-affiliate) link. https://frontierpharm.com/collections/veterinary/products/ciderm-sp-antiseptic-wound-spray-8oz

    Good Morning Jennifer!

I recently cut my index finger with a bread knife, all the way to the bone. It was very painful and lots of blood. I immediately applied pressure for about 5 mins and then drenched my finger in tea tree oil and frank oil, applying more pressure in between application. The bleeding stopped after 10 mins and I just kept applying those 2 oils. Tomorrow makes 1 week of cutting myself, no stitches, no infection, and it’s healing up very nice. Tea tree is my favorite oil for wounds if I’m worried about an infection. Kidscent “owie” oil is really good too! Frank is to help heal it. I don’t have it on hand but another holy grail in the oil world for wounds is helichrysum!!! People call it “liquid stitches”, I plan on using my points to get this oil next time around. My sister has it and it’s always a game changer. I hope this info helped! I’m sorry it’s gotten so bad. If I have a cut that’s scabbed over, I will soak it in warm CLEAN water (not tap water) with some thieves soap to help soften the scab so that i can put oil directly onto the open wound. It’s worked everytime for me, praying it works for you too!

Oh my gosh that sounds terrible, I am so sorry that happened. At this point, making sure you are boosting your immune system from the inside, and applying Frank and Helichrysum from the outside is your best bet. For immediate first aid, I would keep colloidal silver on hand as well as a variety of oils like melrose, helichrysum, lavender and purification.
